Environmental Education and Response CIC (EER CIC) supports communities and businesses in achieving their environmental goals through circular economy solutions.
We promote environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, resource optimisation, and community wellbeing by encouraging practical, longterm action that creates lasting benefits and green job opportunities.
Based in North London, we work with schools, colleges, housing associations, local authorities, businesses, and residents to embed sustainable practices into everyday life.
Our community focused conversations, events and services highlight the connection between environmental health and human wellbeing. Through services such as waste management, home maintenance, and garden care, we generate funding for local environmental initiatives while supporting cleaner, greener neighbourhoods.
EER CIC also supports knowledge sharing and sustainability projects in the Global South, reflecting our commitment to thinking globally while acting locally.
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce waste, we are launching the BinGo Green initiative to encourage greater participation in food waste recycling and most importantly community cohesion. This has been made More possible through the National Lottery Funding, Community Fund, Awards for All 2026/27.
By diverting food waste from landfill, residents can help reduce environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Together, through BinGo Green and our wider environmental programmes, we aim to turn waste into a valuable resource and create healthier, more sustainable communities.
About our founder
Robert Thairu is the founder of Environmental Education and Response, a seasoned environmental champion with extensive experience in waste management, sustainability, and community engagement.
For more than two decades, he has been committed to understanding and addressing the complex challenges facing the waste management sector. His passion for environmental improvement was driven by first hand observations of inequalities in service provision while working closely with diverse communities, giving him valuable insight into the practical and social impacts of waste management policies.
Drawing on both strategic and operational experience, Robert has built a strong reputation for developing innovative, community focused solutions that promote environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, and public participation. His work has consistently focused on bridging gaps between local authorities, businesses, and residents to create more sustainable and inclusive outcomes.
In addition to his professional achievements, Robert is the co-founder of the highly successful Go Green Eco Urban Festival, a flagship environmental and cultural initiative that has been running across North London for the past eight years.
The festival brings together residents, community organisations, businesses, and environmental experts to celebrate sustainability, encourage behavioural change, and inspire greener lifestyles. Through this platform, Robert has helped engage thousands of people in environmental awareness, education, and action, further cementing his role as a leading advocate for sustainable communities.
